Just when An Taisce thought that the annual National Spring Clean campaign couldn't get any bigger, 10% more people took part this year than in 2008. As ever Repak sponsored the event providing colour coded bags for the collection of litter for recycling. This year there were over 505,000 volunteers involved in more than 5,058 clean ups througout Ireland. That's a lot of litter collected. In fact 1,800 tonnes of litter was collected with 630 tonnes recycled. Congratulations on another successful National Spring Clean and well done to everyone who took part.
